Hello, friends of Alex!
Today is a glorious day, for today, you - yes, YOU - get to help create Alex's new web site, by taking the piss out of him.
For years now, Alex's web site has a been a sad pathetic thing, consisting of one just page showing a picture of Alex next to a waterfall, and nothing else. People have asked him to add a little touch of colour - maybe a travel diary, perhaps some links to a friends site, a bit about himself, a resume if he wanted, basically anything. And for years, he did nothing, ignoring his so-called "friends".
Well, that ends today. For today, his web site was converted to a "wiki". A wiki is something that ANYBODY can edit, and ADD or CHANGE ANYTHING they like. Today is the day we draw a line in the sand.
Are you seeing the potential here? What we add does not need to be true. Hell no! We can just make any old shit, and stick on his site, and it'll look like he wrote it. This is your carte blanche. Your call to arms.
Now, you may hesitate a moment, and you may ask yourself: Why would I do this? What has Alex ever done to me? Well, let me say this: I am absolutely certain that Alex has wronged you all, each and every one of you, in some way. Absolutely certain.
Let me give you some examples of how Alex may have wronged you: Perhaps you went to school with him, and he cheated at handball. Perhaps you went to the pub with him one time, and he skimped on his shout. Perhaps you used to live with him, and he didn't put out the rubbish often enough, do the washing-up enough, and clean up his mess. Perhaps you used to go out with him, and now it's over, and you want revenge. Perhaps you are going out with him now, and he hasn't been treating you in the way you should be treated. Perhaps he made a joke at your expense. Perhaps you used to work with him, and he kept asking you silly questions, and took credit for stuff you did, and didn't carry his load. Perhaps you just met him at the pub one hot day, and thought he really should put on some deodorant. Perhaps he was just a little too friendly towards your girlfriend/wife. Perhaps you went to Uni with him, and he coughed too loudly during a lecture once. Perhaps you drank some water from a water company he worked for, and it tasted kind of funny. Whatever your reasons, remember that they are good reasons, and realize that now is your time to take revenge! Rise up, and strike back!
Just go to: http://alexnash.dreamhosters.com/ (Note: in about 24 hours, this will also be available at http://alexnash.com/ , but it's not there just right yet) Then you can edit any page by clicking the "edit" link at the top of the page (or any "edit" link on any page). No need to login, or any of that crap - just go for it (although you can quickly and easily create an account if you want to, using the link on the top right of the page). You can also create a new page by typing the name of the new page (e.g. "My Travels") in the "search" box on the left, pressing enter, then clicking the "this exact title" link. Then type out what you want, and click "Save page". Remember to add a link to your new page to the main page (e.g. in this example, you would add "My Travels" to the front page to make a link to your new page). I've kicked it off with a new short resume for Alex, at: http://alexnash.dreamhosters.com/index.php?title=My_resume His new site will stay open-slather for just a short period of time, after which I may have to lock it down to give him a chance to recover. So remember: don't delay - deface today!
